The MVC Portuguese Limestone served as the stage for an emotional tribute to Salgueiro Maia, one of the iconic figures of the April 25 Revolution.

This ceremony featured two notable artists, sculptor Carlos Oliveira and visual artist Basílio, who were invited to pay their respects through unique artistic interventions using limestone provided by the company.

Carlos Oliveira, known for his works with strong social expression, presented a high relief sculpture in limestone, capturing the impressive details of Salgueiro Maia's determined spirit.

Basílio, on the other hand, brought an innovative approach with the technique of pointillism in stone. This technique, which involves creating images through the meticulous arrangement of small dots, resulted in a vibrant and dynamic representation of Salgueiro Maia.

In addition to the artistic interventions, the event included a musical performance, emotional speeches from prominent community figures, and the presence of the captain's wife, Dr. Natércia Maia, who recalled the importance of Salgueiro Maia in Portugal's history.

MVC Portuguese Limestone expressed its pride in hosting such an important event, reinforcing its commitment to preserving Portugal's historical and cultural memory and transforming its factory unit into a cultural center.
