QUARRIES: A FASCINATING AND PHOTOGRAPHABLE UNIVERSE

Curva

The quarries are cinematographic places, with the cream variants of the stone contrasting with the blue of the strong sky and the greenish tone of the water. For Edward Burtynsky, a Canadian photographer of Ukrainian origin, these are also realities that call for careful investigation and analysis.

Born in 1955, in Ontario, and graduated in Photography and Media Studies at Ryerson University, Burtynsky is one of the biggest names in contemporary photography, with works in collections from more than 60 museums around the world.
