Scientists believe they have found a smart way to reduce carbon dioxide emissions - just by turning them to stone.
Researchers reported an experiment in Iceland in which they injected carbon dioxide and water into volcanic rocks.
Reactions with minerals in the deep basalt layers converted carbon dioxide to a stable, chalky solid.
