Translucency of stone

19 Oct

The Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript library at Yale University (USA), designed by architect Gordon Bunshaft in 1963, uses the translucency of marble to manipulate natural light, giving it a unique atmospheric atmosphere within the space. The exploration of the esthetic value of this property reveals one of the unique features of this type of natural stone, such as one of the most recent ornamental varieties offered by MVC - Azul Lagoa marble, which also allows the execution of works of this kind, as can be seen in the panel installed in the company's showroom.
