Initiative of Rafaéis Mármores, which had already done similar actions in the municipalities of Alcobaça, Porto de Mós, Rio Maior and Santarém.

The company Rafaéis Mármores, which has two businessmen from the Alcobaça area as partners, this Monday marked the Day of the Autochthonous Forest with a forestry action in an old heap in Monsanto, in the municipality of Alcanena.

“As part of its environmental strategy and the promotion of sustainability in the natural stone sector”, forty cork and oak trees, native species present in the region, were planted in an area of ??around one hectare, “thus contributing to the recovery of a degraded area that is part of the Serras de Aire e Candeeiros Natural Park ”.

This Rafaéis Mármores initiative is the first of its kind in the municipality of Alcanena, which joins the actions already developed by the company in other neighboring municipalities, such as Santarém, Porto de Mós, Rio Maior or Alcobaça, being responsible for about 30% of the 110 hectares meanwhile recovered in the Serras de Aire e Candeeiros Natural Park, informs the company.
