Portuguese construction companies travel to Moscow to conquer the Russian market

Three Portuguese companies in the construction sector (MVC - Mármores de Alcobaça, AireLimestones and Arcen Engenharia) traveled to Moscow to participate in MosBuild 2021, the largest fair in Europe for the construction sector, which took place between March 30 and 2 Of april.For Portuguese companies, the balance is “extremely positive”, the feeling is “hope” and it is a “light at the end of the tunnel”, taking into account that last year this fair did not take place.
The opinion is unanimous and for the Portuguese industrial fabric that traveled to Russia to be present at this fair, which took place at the Crocus Expo, the number of visitors and exhibitors “even surprised by the positive” and physical contact is essential in that which is the largest exhibition center in Russia and one of the largest in the world.
The company that manufactures marble and similar rocks, MVC - Mármores de Alcobaça, was present at this event and considers the “positive balance”. The MVC sales manager, Ricardo Rebelo, says that the number of visitors is “surprisingly positive” and due to the experience they have in previous editions, the fair is having “more affluence”. Even in times of a pandemic, he says that they are managing to argue with potential clients as in the past - before the pandemic - and that “the Russians are very comfortable with the pandemic” and that in a way they even “feel a little more free looking at the will of the Russians ”.
For the sales manager of MVC - Mármores de Alcobaça, a company that employs around 30 employees, the fact that this fair is being held in person is a “light at the end of the tunnel” and “synonymous with the opening of some European markets”. Ricardo Rebelo is still cautious and says that “only time will tell” considering that “we are seeing new vacancies all over Europe”, but he hopes that everything “will improve with the vaccination plan”.
The Russian market for building materials and interior decoration continues to have enormous potential. In the last five years, Russia has built an average of 94 million square meters of residential area per year, and is expected to reach the goal of 105 million m2 / year in 2021.
